On Sunday, August 6, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend Board Chair, Blake Dowling, and agency CEO, Molly Lord, proudly presented Mr. Brent Hartsfield with a plaque in honor of the new “Brent Hartsfield Building”. Standing beside him were Delaitre Hollinger and Jeffery Godwin, two of his previous mentees’ who have grown and matured, and have never forgotten the mentorship of Brent Hartsfield.
“In recognition of his unwavering commitment and devotion to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend; the staff and board members are honored to dedicate this building to Mr. Brent Hartsfield. As a former volunteer board member, National Big Brother of the Year 2012, and a lifetime Impact Circle member, this building is hereby known as the “Brent Hartsfield Building.”
Brent believes that relationships developed between carefully selected adult role models and the young people they are paired with have the potential to change lives for the better. “Our belief is that it is inherent in every child to have the ability to succeed and thrive in life.” -Brent Hartsfield
