The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce applauds the Leon County Commission’s investment in tourism development and its commitment to strengthening our local economy. By prioritizing destination marketing and major event attraction, the County is positioning Tallahassee as a premier destination for visitors while creating lasting economic opportunities for the Capital Region.

“The success of recent events, such as the World Athletics Cross Country Championships, the three sold-out Savannah Bananas’ Banana Ball Championship League games and the Professional Bull Riders’ Unleash The Beast Tour, has demonstrated the significant economic impact tourism can have on our region. These events bring visitors who stay in our hotels, dine in our restaurants, shop at local businesses and support jobs across our community,” says Michael Dalby, president and CEO of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber supports continued investment in initiatives that attract these high-impact events, generating positive and meaningful economic returns for local businesses.”

In 2025, approximately 2.6 million visitors chose Tallahassee and Leon County as their destination, bringing new dollars into our local economy and supporting businesses of every size. The County’s investment in attracting larger destination events has high potential to generate meaningful economic activity, expand our tax base and create long-term opportunities that benefit residents and businesses alike.
