Florida Trucking Association (FTA) will host the 2026 Florida Truck Driving Championships (TDC) on June 4-6,2026, at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. This year’s event is shaping up to be one of the largest in the competition’s history, with 363 of Florida’s top professional commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers qualifying from 30 companies across the state. Attendance for the event is free and open to the public.
BY THE NUMBERS: A SNAPSHOT OF SAFETY ON FLORIDA’S ROADS
The 2026 TDC field represents an extraordinary collection of safety excellence in professional driving:
363 qualified drivers from 30 companies – representing household names like Publix Super Markets, Walmart Transportation, DHL, Genesis, FedEx, FedEx Freight, Shelton Trucking, Old Dominion Freight Line, Landstar, The Martin Brower Company, Florida Rock & Tank Lines, UPS, RE Garrison, Centurion Auto Logistics, Inc. and dozens more Florida-based carriers.
Participating drivers are committed to safety. Eligible drivers must be accident free for one year, and the drivers exceed this with more than 439 million combined lifetime miles of safe, accident-free driving – enough to complete the Artemis II lunar flyby mission more than 630 times — a fitting comparison for a state that launches the world’s most ambitious journeys. More than 5,400 combined years of accident-free driving shared between all competitors. 128 first-time competitors (Rookies) are competing alongside seasoned veterans – a sign that Florida’s pipeline of safety-committed professional drivers runs deep.
10 classes of vehicles in the competition, including straight truck, tanker, sleeper, twins, 3-, 4- and 5-axle, auto transport, flatbed, and step van, plus we are joined by Florida Highway Patrol’s Inspector Challenge and Florida Department of Transportation.
Florida’s Finest, in One Arena
“Florida is home to some of the best professional drivers in the country, and the Truck Driving Championships are our chance to celebrate them,” said Scott Perry, President & CEO of Florida Trucking Association. “When you look at the numbers – 363 drivers, 439 million safe miles – you realize how much demonstrated safety experience these professionals bring to our roads every single day. FTA is proud to put a spotlight on that.”
“The Florida Truck Driving Championships isn’t just a competition: it’s a celebration of the professional standard these drivers uphold every time they get behind the wheel,” said Scott Reagan, TDC Chair and representative of Great West. “These competitors are a living example of what safety culture looks like in action. In addition, more than 100 volunteers dedicate their time to making this successful. We’re honored to support this event and these exceptional professionals.”
