Less than two weeks after Hurricane Helene was the third hurricane in 13 months to hit Florida’s Big Bend, Hurricane Milton approaches the Gulf Coast bringing storm surge, rain, and wind to an already storm battered state. While the Red Cross continues to respond to Helene’s wake across ten states, they are also mobilizing volunteers and resources to prepare for Milton. This type of continuous response is becoming the norm and while the Red Cross is poised to handle it, more help is needed. Local Capital Area Florida Board Members and Volunteers have been committed to providing hope and relief in our area from the tornadoes in May to Hurricanes Debby and Helene, and countless disasters before and between. Through the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors, the Red Cross will continue to be there for our neighbors on what could be their darkest day. Check out this video to see some of our local community members, Kyndra Light and Joe Boals, in action: https://vimeo.com/1013848011/67409e9dc7?share=copy.
Why I joined the Chamber
“As an active Chamber member and member of Leads Group 4, I have been able to significantly grow our brand in this area. The networking opportunities are endless - my favorite being the Professional Women's Forum. They always have dynamic speakers and have an excellent turnout. I definitely recommend businesses to not only join The Chamber but to get involved! Attend the events, join a Leads Group and take advantage of all the opportunities The Chamber provides. You won't regret it!”
