Emotions can be internal cues to eat inappropriately. Many people learn to use food to make themselves feel less frustrated, bored, anxious, or depressed. There are times that food may also be used when a person feels happy and wants to celebrate. Whether the emotion is negative or positive, using food when you are not hungry is considered emotional eating. We will be discussing the difference between emotional and physical hunger, how to manage cues/triggers, stress management skill, and tips on how to eat mindfully.
