Marketing Manager, Sonny’s

General Purpose:

Reporting directly to the President and Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for local store Marketing and Catering Sales in the Tallahassee, Thomasville & Albany GA market. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies and community outreach programs to maximize sales growth and spread the spirit of BBQ throughout the designated market.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Increasing brand awareness in local markets to keep Sonny’s BBQ “top of mind” and drive traffic and sales
Coordinating community events (BBQ cook-offs, bridal expos, business expos, etc)
Participating in network groups (Chamber, Young professionals, Restaurant Association, Food Truck Association, etc)
Market canvassing around each location
Ensure consistent brand and image is maintained in restaurant and marketing materials
Partner with General Managers to look beyond daily operations and actively seek ways to increase sales in their market
Generate ideas, create and implement local promotions, contests and programs
Assist with store image, server training, and customer engagement
Identify, develop and manage major sponsorship opportunities within the market
Manage relationships with media outlets in each market
Media alerts and press releases
Be spokesperson for company
Assist with implementation of corporate promotions on a local level
Coordinate marketing aspects of new store openings and special events
Track local store marketing expenses for each location
Develop and strengthen relationships with community groups through grassroots efforts
Create opportunities to expand community relationships to drive traffic back to stores
Coordinate spirit nights and track results
Coordinate Random Acts of BBQ program and other philanthropic efforts
Manage requests for charitable donations of food and gift certificates
Ensure stores are tracking and reporting donations for LSM summary
Strengthen catering segment in each location
Ensure Third Party Delivery is being managed properly
Identify catering customers and keep them engaged through relationship management
Work with General Managers to identify growth opportunities
Develop strong catering team in each location to ensure Sonny’s BBQ image is maintained during catering events
Actively participate in high profile cater events
Coordinate Food Truck schedule, events, and actively seek new opportunities

Ability to maintain composure and objectivity during difficult situations
Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office programs
Strong skill in building and maintaining relationships
Good organizational and planning skills
High drive, persistence, sense of urgency, and initiative; ability to produce results
Must display integrity, discretion, strong work ethic, and professional demeanor
Must be dependable and reliable

Required Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication, Public Relations or related field ; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
At least 1 year related experience
