CEO Spotlight – Sammie Dixon, Prime Meridian Bank

Sammie Dixon currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Prime Meridian Bank, a community bank he helped form in 2008.  He began his career in 1997 with NationsBank and has held various positions, including CEO, in other regional banks in Florida and South Georgia.

Mr. Dixon is an avid proponent of continuing education both for himself and his entire banking team.  He believes strongly in transparency and places a premium on developing and maintaining his Bank’s culture and brand.  As a result of these efforts, the American Banker Magazine named Prime Meridian Bank one of the Best Banks to Work For (2015, 2016).

Mr. Dixon is a Director for the Florida Bankers Association’s Florida School of Banking and is a Florida School of Banking class adviser.

Mr. Dixon is an Administrative Committee Member of the American Bankers Association’s Community Bankers Council.  He is a business and community leader, serving as a member of the Rotary Club of Tallahassee and member of the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees. He also serves on the Boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Bend and the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Dixon holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.  He also attended the University of Georgia (UGA) and, in 2013, was named into the Bulldog 100, a program which each year honors the 100 fastest growing businesses owned or operated by UGA Alumni.
