CEO Spotlight – Erik Steudel, CSG

When it opened its doors in Crawfordville 19 years ago, CSG was best known as a billing and customer care solutions provider for the U.S. cable market. Nearly two decades later, CSG is a trusted provider of revenue management, customer experience and digital service strategies and solutions for innovative telecommunications and entertainment brands across the globe.

As part of its comprehensive suite of customer communications management solutions, CSG prints and mails millions of statements and marketing pieces each month and in fact, is one of the United States Postal Service’s top mailers in the U.S.

Currently, 130 employees operate CSG’s Output Solutions printing facility located in Crawfordville, just south of Tallahassee. Led by Director of Operations Erik Steudel since August 2016, the Crawfordville facility provides a vital component of CSG’s customer experience and communication management offering – managed print services.  Leveraging highly sophisticated printing technology, automation and robotics, CSG’s Crawfordville facility manufactures nearly 33M statements each month, in a facility custom-built to meet its specific needs.

The tools, however, are only a part of CSG’s success in Crawfordville; its people are the true jewels of the facility.  To continually invest in its employees, the company offers extensive employee training programs to both new hires and veteran staff.  As CSG upgrades and integrates the latest technologies, educational sessions are regularly held to update employee skillsets to ensure their success in the digital economy.

“CSG has invested significantly not only in the latest technology to keep our facility running smoothly, but also in the necessary training for all of our staff,” said Steudel. “Few other companies in the area have put so much into making sure their people have the latest tools and skills. I like to think of us as the hidden high-tech gem of Wakulla County.”

While CSG prioritizes investment in employee development and training, another core pillar of the CSG Crawfordville culture is setting aside time and resources to help better the community. Over the last several decades, CSG employees have worked with local leaders to support a number of causes. Between the 50 percent of employees who are Tallahassee residents and the 50 percent located directly in Wakulla County, CSG strives to have an active presence across the  Greater Tallahassee area. In fact, last fall employees participated in local Habitat for Humanity home builds and donated to several local charities as part of CSG’s annual Florida Giving program. Several of these charities included the McGrew League, the Pace Center for Girls, the Wakulla Pregnancy Center, the Hang Tough Foundation and Woodville Elementary.

As a proud member of the Tallahassee community for nearly two decades, CSG continues to invest in the betterment of the city and surrounding counties as well as the people who help the business thrive.
