Tallahassee, Fla. (August 31, 2016) — Tallahassee Community College, TCC Spark and Domi Station are hosting Startup Weekend Tallahassee, a weekend-long event that will connect aspiring entrepreneurs, developers and designers with mentors and resources. Attendees will share ideas, form teams and launch startups in 48 hours.
The event will be held on September 16-18 at TCC’s Center for Workforce Development. Beginning with open mic pitches on Friday, attendees will share their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Teams will focus on customer development, validating their ideas, practicing Lean Startup methodologies and building a minimal viable product. On Sunday afternoon, teams will demo their prototypes and receive feedback from a panel of experts. On average, half of Startup Weekend’s attendees have technical or design backgrounds, and the other half have business backgrounds.
The event is sponsored by The Jim Moran School of Entrepreneurship, Architects: Lewis + Whitlock, the Leon County R & D Authority, and CareerSource Capital Region.
