TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (August 15, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College announced a $100,000 gift from Refreshment Services Pepsi & Vending at the August 15 meeting of the TCC District Board of Trustees.
The donation to the TCC Foundation will include a $25,000 investment in technology upgrades, furniture and maintenance of a classroom and $25,000 to create an endowed scholarship. The gift will also include $50,000 to support the renovation of TCC’s athletics training center.
Refreshment Services Pepsi & Vending is a family-owned franchise with six locations across the United States. The gift was presented by Scott Cason, sales manager of the Tallahassee location, and Rod Burk, sales manager for Refreshment Services Vending. They were representing the company and Al Hudgins, general manager of the Tallahassee location.
“We run each plant separately so we can make it about the local community,” said Cason. “We are continually looking for ways to be involved in the community and to help provide an education for students.”
The gift is part of the TCC Foundation’s “TCC We Rise” campaign. The Foundation has announced numerous major gifts since it kicked off the capital campaign in March.
“With this generous gift, Refreshment Services Pepsi & Vending is demonstrating their commitment to the College and to our community,” said Heather Mitchell, executive director of the TCC Foundation. “These investments will tangibly enhance the student experience at TCC.”
