Summit Group Management, LLC, was founded in 1999 when a 117 acre cow pasture became home to the first of 11 buildings that make up Summit East Technology Park including a luxury hotel, Staybridge Suites. Rick Kearney is the founder of Mainline Information Systems and the force behind the creation and development of the park. The vision of the park includes not only cutting edge technology, but a commitment to the environment. A large portion of the park is set aside as a conservation easement to protect century old oaks and other natural features of the land. Summit Group specializes in the development, management and leasing of “Class A” retail and commercial real estate and has several other projects in addition to the Summit East Technology Park.

Summit Group is currently working to expand its existing 60,000 square foot Bannerman Crossings Retail Center located at Thomasville and Bannerman Roads in Northeast Tallahassee. This new expansion project will include additional retail space with an emphasis on pedestrian friendly common areas. Other projects include various real estate holdings in the Tallahassee area, St. Teresa Beach, Florida, and Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.

In 2010, Claude Walker joined Summit Group Management. He is not only a native Floridian, but has lived in Tallahassee most of his life. Claude’s extensive background as both a former CPA and a board certified real estate attorney are assets not commonly found in one person and serve the various business operations of the Summit Group well. Even in the face of the recent downturn in the U. S. economy, Claude’s leadership led to the growth of Summit East Technology Park, as well as the retail center at Bannerman Crossings.

Claude lives in Tallahassee with his wife, Laurie, and two dogs. His two grown sons are following in his footsteps in accounting and law, and his step-daughter has recently completed college. Claude is involved in raising awareness of the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and supports the Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Health Center at TMH, named in honor of his late wife.

Summit Group Management looks forward to many years in expanding its commercial real estate projects, being on the cutting edge of technology, and its commitment to be energy efficient and ecologically friendly.
