Stop Workplace Bullying – Free Workshop

The City of Tallahassee’s Equity and Workforce Development Department invites you to join in a cutting edge training experience – Workplace Bullying. Workplace bullying is defined as the repeated mistreatment of one or more employees with a malicious mix of humiliation, intimidation and sabotage of performance; and, its potential impact in the workplace cannot be ignored. In this workshop you will receive detailed information about the workplace bullying phenomenon. Our facilitator, Dr. Gary Namie, has taught, advised, written, researched and presented on the topic of workplace bullying for over 20 years. He taught the nation’s first university course on workplace bullying and was the expert witness in the nation’s first “bullying trial.” Dr. Namie will discuss:

-Why bullying happens
-The comparisons to other social phenomena that traumatize and destabilize people &organizations
-What bullying at work is “not”
-Characteristics of workplace bullies
-Bullying as the new 21st century discrimination/harassment/civil rights issue
-The organizational impact of bullying
