TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Nationally acclaimed Ron Sachs Communications today announced its acquisition of What’s Next Marketing, a highly respected full-service social/digital media/marketing practice, in a move expected to enhance the Sachs firm’s national reach with comprehensive integrated services for a strong stable of clients and projects.
The Ad Club of Boston named What’s Next Marketing as Emerging Interactive Business at the celebrated 2011 South by Southwest Festival. Last year, What’s Next Marketing was a finalist for Forbes’ “Most Promising Companies” list. The Sachs firm will blend its existing SachsDigital division with What’s Next, forging a powerful alliance to help clients shape the conversation about their brand, service, products and issues. The digital division will be called What’s Next Marketing and will boost the firm’s ability to achieve client objectives with state-of-the-art digital strategies.
“In just three years of existence, What’s Next Marketing has made an extraordinary impact in the ever-evolving world of media and digital marketing — establishing itself as an emerging dominant player in the field, ” said Ron Sachs, president and CEO of Ron Sachs Communications. “We respect and recognize that founder Ryan Cohn has been at the forefront of thought leadership about the convergence of media platforms – and his team’s abilities will be great assets for our firm.”
The Sachs firm acquisition includes all of What’s Next Marketing’s key staff, clients and resources – and is expected to enhance the firm’s operations and outreach for local, state and national clients and projects. Cohn will head the Sachs digital media division. Key staff leadership at What’s Next Marketing joining the Sachs team includes Brian O’Toole, the digital operation’s creative director, whose strengths are in brand strategy, web development and design, creative campaign ideation and digital advertising.
With offices in Tallahassee and Orlando, Ron Sachs Communications is consistently ranked among the top three public relations firms in Florida and the top 100 in the nation. The Bulldog Reporter, a respected industry journal, in 2011 named Ron Sachs Communications as “National PR Agency of the Year.” As Florida’s leading integrated public affairs communications firm, Ron Sachs Communications builds public and opinion leader support for issues of local, state and national importance and creates effective campaigns for corporate, non-profit and government clients.
“As someone who always values top quality and excellence in our work, we are very excited and gratified to become strong new members of the Sachs Communications team – which defines excellence in our profession,” said Ryan Cohn, What’s Next Marketing founder/CEO.
Michelle Ubben, chief operating officer of Ron Sachs Communications, said the acquisition of What’s Next Marketing is a logical next step for the 17-year-old Sachs firm.
“We know that this fusion of talent, creativity and resources will develop a bold new paradigm for making the most effective use of every media platform for the benefit of our clients, projects and partners,” said Ubben.
What’s Next Marketing has earned national recognition through its work creating and implementing social media campaigns for the American Chemistry Council, Carmichael Racing, Florida State University and many other notable brands.
Cohn founded What’s Next Marketing in 2009 and quickly built it into one of the largest full-service independent social media firms in the Southeast. A graduate of Florida State University with degrees in marketing and psychology, Cohn began working as a channel manager for one of the largest Internet Relay Chat sites – the precursor of social media – in 1998. He later ran a variety of large-scale online forums and communities. In 2007, Cohn began working as a liaison between Facebook and businesses. He is currently writing a book to help corporate, government and other leaders – and those who influence them – navigate the ever-changing landscape of social/digital media platforms.
