Program Assistant, Legal Aid Foundation of Tallahassee

Job Description: The Legal Aid Foundation of Tallahassee is seeking a part-time Program Assistant. The Program Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Executive Director and the Promise Zone Staff Attorney in a variety of administrative and clerical functions, including: interfacing with clients and managing client communications; creating and maintaining client files; scheduling appointments, depositions, court proceedings, meetings and travel; entering new client and matter information in online case management system and spreadsheets; filing and e-filing documents; assembling and organizing pleading binders; assisting with trial preparation; assisting with outreach activities; developing and maintaining relationships with community partners and performing other tasks as assigned. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma and a minimum of one year of experience as an assistant in a legal or professional setting. Candidates must be computer literate with knowledge in application of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and Internet research. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal skills, typing ability, advanced computer software and organizational skills, exceptional prioritization and judgment, ability to work at a fast pace, excellent time management, strong follow up and follow through, ability to work independently and as a part of a team, and flexibility to work outside of scheduled hours when needed.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to sit for long periods.
• Regular contact with existing and prospective donors, volunteers, and supporters.
• Regular travel in the local area. Must have a reliable vehicle, and requires maintaining a valid Florida State drivers’ license.
