North Florida Regional Manager, Zagster

Join Zagster as one of our first Market Managers to grow and scale bike sharing for multiple City and University customers. This crucial, entrepreneurial role will be responsible for managing the P&L and overseeing operations in Tallahassee and in other markets across the Southeast. This role, similar to a “General Manager” will be directly responsible for growing our bike sharing business, ensuring in market operations run smoothly, managing community relationships, and providing market feedback to our home team in Cambridge, MA.

The Market Manager will have several direct reports across multiple locations and will report directly to our New Markets Team. You will be directly responsible for providing business leadership, maximizing growth and driving operational performance in their respective territory, while constructing and driving strategic changes that contribute to overall success. They will take on responsibility for regional shares’ operational performance, measured in the quality and quantity of ridership and the overall growth of programs, customer satisfaction, and resource efficiency.

Key responsibilities:
-Effectively collaborate with New Markets Team leadership on overall market strategy
-Directly responsible for the performance of your markets across several categories of goals, to include ridership, community engagement, and operational effectiveness.
-Provide performance management; using systems to deliver results consistently (operational excellence: KPI reporting and diagnosis, application of best practices, team training & development)
-Oversee the operations staff in each market, to include bike mechanics & rebalancers, ensuring bikes are in the right condition at the right location at the right time for riders to use.
-Collaborate effectively with city officials in the geography and demonstrate comfort operating as a critical liaison with government officials. Identify and tackle regulatory and entrenched roadblocks, working to create alignment amongst senior business and policy stakeholders and drive solutions that accelerate ridership and program growth.
-Develop community initiatives designed to drive ridership,which may include educational events, electronic and print communications, and reference share promotion.
-Synthesize market feedback and recommendations to New Markets Team leadership.
-Work closely with other local and regional management to ensure Zagster’s practice standards are met and that rider, partner, and market expectations are met or exceeded.
-Willingness to pitch in on all facets of bike sharing operations, where temporary gaps and needs exist
-Manage up to 10 direct reports across 2-3 locations and effectively direct and motivate them to execute to ensure program success.

Key qualifications:
-8+ years of experience thriving in a high-paced, high-impact programs with remote operations in rapidly evolving environments.
-Excellent communication skills: strategic listener, conscious conversationalist, and the ability to persuade and impact people from a wide range of roles and backgrounds
-Ability to function with a high degree of independence, under minimal supervision, and in an environment with a lot of ambiguity.
-Proven record for cost management with a clear understanding of P&L with experience tracking the success of operational improvement programs and an acute eye for measuring and growing ROI.
-Demonstrates integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy.
-Relentless focus on execution and an ability to deftly manage individual shares through process improvement initiatives, either at the local or national level.
-Understanding of or willingness to learn the nuanced regulations, challenges, and opportunities in a specific geographic area.
-Strong connections within the Tallahassee community & the Southeast.
-Passion for sustainable transportation, community building, shared mobility, and/or biking is a plus
-Available to work evenings and weekends as needed; travel up to 80% of the time
