Walker_Karen_300.enewsKaren Walker has led the Firm’s Tallahassee office as its Executive Partner since 2007. After graduating from the University of Florida College of Law, Karen joined Holland & Knight in Tallahassee. She previously lived in Tallahassee while attending Florida State University where she received a degree in Communications. Karen has spent her entire 21 year legal career at Holland & Knight and represents clients in administrative and civil litigation with an emphasis on government contracts matters.

She has held various leadership positions in the American Bar Association Section of Public Contract Law, State and Local Division. Throughout her legal career, Karen has also been engaged in providing pro bono legal services to those who could not otherwise afford a lawyer through the Legal Aid Foundation and Legal Services of North Florida.

In addition to representing clients in legal matters, Karen has held numerous management positions at Holland & Knight including serving two terms on the Firm’s Directors Committee. Karen currently participates in the senior management of the Firm serving as the liaison for all of the Firm’s Executive Partners to management.

Karen has also been involved in the local community. She currently is the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend and has served on Kids Incorporated’s Board for many years. Karen is a Past Chair of the Board of the United Way of the Big Bend as well as a Part Chair of the United Way’s Power of the Purse. She is a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee Class XVI and Leadership Florida Class XXVII.

Karen is married to United States District Judge Mark Walker. They are the parents of two teenage daughters ages 14 and 16.
