Gilmore Services is pleased to announce the addition of a new Territory Manager Phyllis Smith. Phyllis will be working with businesses in Tallahassee and west through Panama City and in south Alabama and South Georgia.
Phyllis has a degree in Soil Conservation and Land Use Management from the University of Florida and started her professional career with the USDA developing soil conservation plans for rural North West Florida. Water and soil quality have been a long time concern and passion of hers. She strongly believes that the responsible stewardship of vital natural resources is the basis for our quality of life. As a 25 year resident of Leon County and mother of 2, she is heavily invested in our area.
In her professional endeavors she is a leader in developing solutions to difficult problems. She learned the art of consulting with decision makers to create solutions for their businesses while working as a Pharmaceutical sales Representative. Most of her professional life has been devoted to private sector business development and growth. She understands the difficult balance faced by encouraging and demanding growth and advancement while protecting and nurturing our environment.
She now has the great pleasure of combining her vocation with her avocation and is working professionally with businesses in reducing, reusing and recycling shredded and other discarded materials.
In addition to her passion for our environment and the work she has done professionally, she is involved in numerous community programs including those at her children’s schools, her Temple, the Chamber of Commerce, Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend, The American Cancer Society, and the Capital City Toastmasters club, to name just a few. She is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys kayaking, canoeing, hiking and bicycling.
