TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida-based marketing and communications firm, Taproot Creative, has named Stacey Getz, APR, as partner and vice president of public relations. Getz previously served as director of strategic communications for the agency.
Taproot Creative hired Getz in September 2009 in part to help grow the firm’s web and graphic design business into a full-service integrated marketing agency. In less than three years, the firm expanded from five to 10 employees, opened a second office in South Florida and broadened its service offerings to include market research, branding, advertising, public relations and digital media.
Taproot Creative now serves clients across the country ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 organizations. The company is also planning it’s second acquisition in its seven-year history later this summer.
“Stacey has been instrumental in helping to take our business to the next level in spite of a down economy,” said Sean Doughtie, president and CEO of Taproot Creative. “She’s a huge asset to our firm, and a godsend to our clients.”
As one of only 4,000 nationally accredited public relations professionals, Getz has spent the last decade leading award-winning campaigns in the corporate, nonprofit, government and political arenas. Outside of work, she channels her passion for the community by volunteering and serving in leadership positions for various local nonprofits, including the Knight Creative Communities Institute and Elder Care Services, among others. She is also a member of Leadership Tallahassee Class 27.
Getz is a summa cum laude graduate of Florida State University’s College of Communication and lives in Tallahassee with her husband and their two young daughters.
