Tallahassee Memorial Hosts Free CPR & Wellness Fair

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States.  Getting active and learning hands-only CPR are two of the easiest things you can do to protect your family’s health.
Join the Tallahassee Memorial Heart & Vascular Center on Feb. 15 at the 2014 Heart to Heart CPR & Wellness fair to jump-start your family’s heart health. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Donald L Tucker Civic Center and is free and open to the public.
Activities will focus on easy ways for the entire family to be heart healthy while having fun and include: face painting, a DJ booth with music and dancing, a heart-health obstacle course, a basketball shoot-out, free CPR training, and the chance to walk through an exhibit-size heart to learn more about one of your body’s most important muscles. There will even be a special appearance by Leon the talking ambulance.
The free CPR training will take place from 10 a.m. to Noon and is limited to the first 380 participants. Register today at www.tmh.org/heartmonth to reserve your spot! Please note that this course is not valid for CPR certification.
The CPR training will be provided by Leon County EMS, and the event is funded by a grant from the Alpha Phi Foundation through the Tallahassee Memorial Foundation.
