Commercial Services Expert Sherwood Brown Joins Florida Commerce Credit Union

Local businesses can expect tailored financial solutions from
newly expanded iBiz! Business Services Program

Long-time financial services expert Sherwood Brown is the new Business Services Director at Florida Commerce Credit Union, the largest credit union in North Florida. A familiar face in the Tallahassee financial sector, Brown brings more than twenty years of experience in credit counseling, strategic planning and money management to his new position.

As the Business Services Director, he will be responsible for enriching relationships with businesses and consumers in the community and providing tailored financial solutions to Florida Commerce’s business members.

“We are very excited to have a person with Sherwood’s credentials and experience lead the business services team at Florida Commerce Credit Union,” said Cecilia Homison, Florida Commerce Credit Union CEO. “He brings a wealth of knowledge in strategic planning and business counseling to help our members achieve their financial goals.”

Florida Commerce serves businesses of all sizes with the iBiz! Business Services Program, which includes free and interest-bearing checking options, business lending, merchant services, payroll services, remote deposit capture, and business credit cards. In addition, Florida Commerce offers free quarterly small business seminars for the Tallahassee community.

Prior to joining Florida Commerce, Brown spent more than 20 years as a financial expert and mentor at Wachovia and its predecessors, where he represented the bank in the community and developed financial solutions for businesses.

A graduate of Florida A&M University, he is actively engaged in the community as a board member for the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and the local chapter of 100 Black Men of America. He was also named Volunteer of the Year by the Tallahassee Democrat in 2008 for his religious work in the community. Brown resides in Tallahassee with his wife and four children.
