On Thursday, July 25, the City’s Stormwater Management Division will host a public information meeting about the Eastgate Flood Relief Project. This project will help to alleviate flooding in the Eastgate neighborhood. The meeting will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Camellia Room at Dorothy B. Oven Park, 3205 Thomasville Road.
Construction of the project will be performed in two phases. Phase I will increase the capacity of the Northeast Drainage Ditch located downstream and east of Eastgate. Phase II will upgrade the drainage system within the neighborhood. Construction of Phase I is planned to begin in September, and Phase II is currently being designed.
The purpose of the July 25 meeting is to provide additional information to residents and discuss the upcoming construction activities, schedules and time frames for Phase I. An update will also be provided about Phase II. The meeting will be an open house format so that those who are interested may drop in at their convenience. Staff will be on hand to meet individually with citizens to review plans, answer questions and address any concerns.
