CEO Spotlight – Ruthellen Caldwell, First Florida Credit Union

The guiding mission of First Florida Credit Union is to support its members’ financial aspirations by providing affordable financial products and services combined with stellar member service. Our knowledgeable staff works with members individually to help them achieve financial success.

First Florida operates 13 branches throughout Florida (five in Tallahassee) to serve more than 52,000 members in 26 counties as well as employees of the state of Florida.

We are excited to announce the opening of our newest branch in Tallahassee at 503 Appleyard Drive. We look forward to serving the staff and students of Tallahassee Community College as well as surrounding communities/businesses in this area.

Plans are also underway to construct a 3,000 square foot branch on Thomasville and Bannerman Road with three drive-through lanes (including a drive-up ATM commercial lane), a lobby coin counter machine, and a future Interactive Teller Machine. The branch is slated for completion during the latter part of this year.

In addition to delivering better services to our members by utilizing technology and optimizing our branch network, we help many of our members make smart financial choices by providing money management tools and advice tailored to their particular needs and stages of life. Our interactive workshop for teens, Mad City Money™, has seen significant growth relative to popularity and the overall number of teens we have reached. If you are interested in learning more about the services we offer or would like to schedule one of our financial literacy events, please contact one of our Tallahassee branch locations.

For this month’s Spotlight, we would like to introduce our Tallahassee Regional Director, Ruthellen Caldwell. Ruthellen came to First Florida with over 23 years of service in the financial industry. Ruthellen has been involved in all aspects of branch operations, from being a teller to the wide range of front-line positions. She is very passionate about Tallahassee and the surrounding communities as well as her leadership role in serving our members and her growing First Florida team. Ruthellen has a 17 year old daughter who is a senior at Chiles and plans to attend TCC after graduation.

Whether it is delivering conveniences through our wide range of services and products, providing financial education, or protecting your financial future, First Florida Credit Union will continue to look for ways to enhance your personal banking experience now and into the future. We look forward to helping our Tallahassee and surrounding communities achieve their financial goals for many years to come.
